How to connect Facebook Messenger

With LaunchSMS you can connect different channels to give your company a competitive edge to get more leads and generate additional sales. Now you can integrate your Facebook Messenger to LaunchSMS for a seamless integration that sends Facebook Messenger messages directly into LaunchSMS.

To connect your Facebook Messenger to LaunchSMS follow these steps:

Log into LaunchSMS and navigate to Admin > Integrations and click the Facebook Integrations box. Then click “Connect New Facebook Account” *Make sure you are logged into the account that is managing the Facebook Messenger you are trying to integrate LaunchSMS with.

Once you have authenticated your Facebook account, you will be redirected back to LaunchSMS where you will see either your account (if you manage one account) or a dropdown list of accounts (if you manage multiple accounts).

Next, go to the Facebook Account that is managing the Messenger you just connected to LaunchSMS and go to Settings

Once you are on the settings page, navigate to the Advanced Messaging tab on the left.

Next, locate the Connected Apps section and you will see the LaunchSMS app connected. Click on “Configure”.

You’ll then be redirected to the Business Integrations Page. Locate the LaunchSMS business integration and click “View and edit”

Next, make sure that the following permissions are granted

  • Manage your Pages
  • Manage and access Page conversations in Messenger
  • Show a list of the Pages you manage

You will now start receiving texts to your LaunchSMS Messenger from customers who engage with your Facebook Business page.

Currently, there isn’t a way to retrieve a person’s name or number when they connect with you using Facebook Messenger. They will appear on the LaunchSMS messenger with a Facebook Messenger icon next to the message.
