Step-by-Step Guide
1. Start a New Broadcast
- Click “Create New Broadcast” from the dashboard
- You’ll see the broadcast creation form
2. Choose Broadcast Type
- Send Now: Messages sent immediately upon creation
- Schedule Later: Set specific date and time for sending
3. Basic Information
Broadcast Name: [Required]
Example: "Summer Sale Announcement"
Description: [Optional]
Example: "30% off all items - flash sale promotion"
4. Select Your Audience
Option A: Direct Phone Numbers
- Enter phone numbers separated by commas
- Format: +1234567890 or (123) 456-7890
Option B: Select from Contacts
- Click “Select Contacts” button
- Choose from your existing customer list
- Multiple selection supported
Option C: Tag-Based Selection
- Click “Select by Tags” button
- Choose customer tags (VIP, New Customer, etc.)
- All customers with selected tags will be included
5. Choose your Campaign Number
If you have purchased additional phone numbers and setup Campaigns, you can select any of your created phone numbers from the drop down list. If no additional numbers have been purchased you will send all messages from your default LaunchSMS number.
6. Compose Your Message
Message Editor Features:
- Character counter: Shows remaining characters and SMS segments
- Variable insertion: Add personalized fields
- Template library: Use pre-saved message templates
- Nexus AI assistance: Generate messages with Nexus AI (if enabled)
- Media attachments: Add images to create MMS messages

7. Scheduling (For Scheduled Broadcasts)
Date & Time:
- Select future date (cannot schedule in the past)
- Choose specific time
- System validates business hours and provides warnings
Timezone:
- Select appropriate timezone for your audience
- System converts to UTC for storage
- Display shows local time for clarity
Best Practices:
- Schedule during business hours (8 AM – 8 PM)
- Avoid weekends for business messages
- Consider holidays and special events
8. Review & Send
Pre-Send Checklist:
- ✅ Verify recipient count and cost estimate
- ✅ Review message content for typos
- ✅ Check that variables will populate correctly
- ✅ Confirm timing (immediate or scheduled)
- ✅ Ensure you have sufficient SMS credits
Final Step:
- Click “Create & Send Now” for immediate broadcasts
- Click “Schedule Broadcast” for scheduled broadcasts
