How to Setup Local Content Engine with Housecall Pro

This guide explains how to connect Housecall Pro to Local Content Engine so completed jobs can create mini jobs and related local content.

What Housecall Pro Can Drive

When configured correctly, Housecall Pro completed jobs can be used to:

  • Create mini jobs
  • Generate AI titles and summaries
  • Generate AI images if enabled
  • Generate AI recap videos if enabled
  • Publish content to websites, GBP, and YouTube through automations

Prerequisites

Before setup, make sure you have:

  • A Housecall Pro account
  • Access to Housecall Pro webhooks
  • Your Housecall Pro API key
  • Local Content Engine enabled in LaunchSMS

Step 1: Connect Housecall Pro in LaunchSMS

  1. In LaunchSMS, go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Open Housecall Pro
  3. Copy the LaunchSMS webhook URL shown in the integration
  4. Enter your Housecall Pro API key
  5. Save the integration

Step 2: Add the Webhook in Housecall Pro

Use the webhook URL shown in LaunchSMS in your Housecall Pro webhook setup.

At minimum, Local Content Engine needs completed-job events.

LaunchSMS currently highlights these Housecall Pro webhook events for active automations:

  • job.completed
  • job.on_my_way
  • job.appointment.scheduled
  • estimate.sent
  • estimate.completed
  • estimate.option.approval_status_changed
  • invoice.sent
  • invoice.paid

For Local Content Engine content generation specifically, the most important event is:

  • job.completed

Step 3: Enable Housecall Pro in Local Content Engine

  1. Open Local Content Engine
  2. Turn on Enable Local Content Engine
  3. Turn on Use Queue Processing
  4. Turn on the Housecall Pro provider toggle

Optional:

  • Enable AI image creation
  • Enable AI video creation
  • Add WordPress sync webhook
  • Enable automation trigger for GBP syndication

Step 4: Add Brand Assets

If you want branded media output, upload:

  • Primary Logo Attachment
  • Secondary Reference Attachment

These help guide images and recap videos.

Step 5: Run a Completed Job Test

Trigger a completed Housecall Pro job that includes useful real-world content such as:

  • Job type
  • Job description
  • Completion notes
  • City and state
  • Attachments if available

Housecall Pro content currently relies heavily on:

  • job type
  • description
  • note text
  • job notes
  • city/state
  • attachments

Step 6: Confirm the Output

After the job is processed, verify:

  • A mini job was created
  • The title and summary make sense
  • The provider source is Housecall Pro
  • Any AI image/video generation completed as expected
  • The content appears on the target website or automation destination

To get better mini-job output from Housecall Pro:

  • Use clear job types
  • Encourage technicians to leave useful completion notes
  • Include before/after photos where possible
  • Keep location data clean
  • Use queue processing for production

Troubleshooting

If Housecall Pro jobs are not generating content, check:

  • Housecall Pro is connected
  • The webhook URL is correct
  • job.completed is enabled in Housecall Pro
  • Local Content Engine is enabled
  • The Housecall Pro provider toggle is on
  • Queue workers are running if queue mode is enabled
