Using Custom Fields with Contacts

Adding Custom Field Data to New Contacts

  1. Click “Add Contact” from the People page
  2. Fill in standard fields (name, phone, email, etc.)
  3. Scroll to “Additional Information” section
  4. Complete relevant custom fields
  5. Click “Save”

Editing Custom Fields for Existing Contacts

  1. Click the edit button (pencil icon) next to any contact
  2. Scroll to the “Additional Information” section
  3. Update custom field values as needed
  4. Click “Save”

Adding New Dropdown Options On-the-Fly

While editing a contact:

  1. Select any dropdown field
  2. Choose “+ Add New Option” from the dropdown
  3. Enter the new option name
  4. The option is immediately saved and available for all contacts

Tips for Data Entry

  • Date fields: Use the date picker or format as YYYY-MM-DD
  • Number fields: Enter whole numbers or decimals
  • Multi-select: Hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple options
  • URLs: Include http:// or https:// for proper linking
